Despite seeming like a small issue, an unaddressed glass chip tends to grow. Carglass® research shows that any chip will eventually crack, micro-cracks will expand and turn into larger cracks. All of this can pose a safety risk to the driver and passengers.
If a cracked vehicle glass is not repaired on time, dust, moisture, and other contaminants will accumulate in the chip over time. This affects the quality of the repair. It is much more difficult to repair a long-standing chip than a newly-formed one, which can negatively impact the appearance of the repaired glass, and the fixed spot may remain more visible.
If the customer responds promptly to a chip on the windshield, we achieve excellent results: the glass defect is removed, visibility is improved, and the original glass is preserved. Plus, time and money are saved.
